In 2020 SAP launched a pilot project with the aim to localize their new acquisition, Qualtrics, the world’s leading experience management software into a number of languages, among them Hungarian. For the translation SAP introduced a new platform, the cloud-based translation management system, XTM. Both the product and the translation platform were new for us, project managers and our vendors as well. With SAP’s support we successfully trained our vendors and have been delivering translations for several months now.

As the client informed us of the job in advance, we had enough time to set up the translator team. Beside the project manager, by our firm three colleagues worked in the project, the rest of the job was done by freelance translators and proof-readers. During the summer we launched a system translation project of 40 000 short lines from German to Hungarian for our valued customer, SAP SE. It was followed by a similar one at the end of the year. When the project started, 5 translators concentrated on this job exclusively, but in the last two weeks of the task we had to involve 5 people more, since the speed of the translation reduced greatly because of the complexity of the texts. Additionally, during the second project a language test was also necessary in the last weeks.
